My first week at JTC Health and Safety Services ltd
My name is Reece Cox and welcome to my first blog. I am currently studying Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment at West Suffolk College (in Bury St Edmunds). As part of my work experience project, I have taken the opportunity to come on board with Jason and the company. This is a fantastic opportunity for me, as this will perfectly compliment my studies at college, giving me very valuable experience surrounding the business and the construction industry itself.
I’ve just finished my first week at JTC; I have been involved with many different tasks relevant to different aspects of the business. On my first day (Monday the 4th November 2019) I accompanied Jason and was introduced to some of his customers. Then, we completed my risk assessments and induction that covered the tasks and activities that I will undertake during my time at JTC. My next day was Saturday the 9th November 2019.
On Saturday, we created some certificates for some learners from one of Jason’s Manual Handling training courses and completed a pre-qualification document for a client. Then, I studied for the Health and Safety test for my CSCS card that I will be taking in the coming weeks. Later on in the afternoon, we both went to watch football at Ipswich Town FC. JTC sponsored the Man of The Match award, which we presented after the match to goalkeeper Will Norris. The score was 1-1. So far, I have really enjoyed my time alongside Jason, and I am very excited for the future.
I will keep everyone updated with my progress so look out for future posts – Reece.
