Reece Cox at JTC – March 2020 blog post
Hi, Reece again, welcome to the latest blog post.
Since the last post in January, I have had numerous work experience days with JTC Health and Safety Services – Here are some stand-out ones.
Firstly, one of my favourite days of work experience came on the 3rd of February. On this day, I was delighted to have the opportunity to accompany one of Jason’s clients (Sean Newson, Health and Safety Manager for Allglass) on site throughout the day. These sites were in Basildon, Colchester and Ipswich. The work that was being carried out was an estimating job in which various windows were measured on site to ensure that the windows were of a correct size and proportion. I found this day out extremely enjoyable, as I was able to attend live sites and see the various works that are carried out. One of the most enjoyable parts of the day was when I accompanied Sean on a scissor lift alongside the building which Allglass were working on. Also, I saw how various H&S measures are applied to these jobs, which I found very interesting, and related to my studies.
Another stand out day was that of the 18th of February. For the day, I once again accompanied and assisted Jason with an EFAW First Aid training course in Huntingdon. I assisted with setting up, delivering the course itself, and the practical element of the day. I enjoyed the day very much, as I once again got involved in the training environment.
And Finally, I would like to mention the work that myself and Jason carried out on the 19th of February. I once again attended a training course – this one being an EUSR Water Hygiene training course in Norwich for a maintenance contractor. However, this time I was a delegate on the course. I passed the course, which now means I own a EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
Meanwhile at College, I have received yet another distinction in a Unit – this one was the Health and Safety unit. Also, I have passed my driving Theory Test, so making great progression.
Thanks very much for reading, stay tuned for more.
